Here's a podcast I created to give some ideas for using technology with English language learners.

Understand that you are not only helping students academically but that you may also be helping families adjust.
Openly communicate acceptance of students and be accessible to them.
What groups are represented in texts, discussion, and bulletin board displays? Are certain groups invisible?
Are the problems faced by minorities presented in a realistic fashion, with a problem-solving orientation?
Solicit parents' views on education through a simple questionnaire, telephone interviews, or student or parent interviews.
Provide a written outline of key content from lecture notes to reduce the amount of copying.
To help with spelling, use a word wall with commonly used words that students would already know.
